LEGACY Day #3
Read Ephesians 3:16-18
I ask the Father in his great glory to give you the power to be strong inwardly [ in the inner person] through his Spirit. I pray that Christ will live [make his home] in your hearts by faith and that your life will be strong in love and be built on love [ rooted and grounded in love]. And I pray that you and all God’s holy people will have the power to understand [comprehend; grasp] the greatness of Christ’s love—how wide and how long and how high and how deep that love is.

Trees are designed to withstand winds from all directions. The stress that wind causes on a tree actually promotes healthy root growth. The healthier, deeper, and stronger the root system, the stronger winds a tree can withstand. IF a tree experiences wind from only 1 direction for too long, it will cause the root system to grow in only one direction under the ground. Then, when wind hits that tree from a different direction in the future, the tree is unable to withstand the stress/pressure because it does not have the proper root structure to support it. Trees need wind.
We need to be rooted and grounded in love. We need healthy, strong roots. Also, maybe we shouldn’t be afraid of the wind. We should expect it and appreciate what it is: an opportunity for God to make us stronger and grow our roots as we rely on Him.

One of my favorite quotes is from Bruce Lee:
"Do not pray for an easy life, pray for the strength to endure a difficult one"
Our prayer should be to the one who has ALL the strength as Lyle pointed out above in Ephesians. This should not just be a prayer for ourselves but also for all brothers and sisters. Can't thank you enough for this reminder!
